SpendLog privacy policy

Effective 19 October 2026

SpendLog is an expense tracker for Android, published by Prasanvi Cyber Security Solutions Pvt Ltd, India ("Prasanvi", "we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use SpendLog.

In short: your money data stays on your phone. We have no servers, accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Data leaves your phone only when you turn on an AI provider and allow it, or when you ask the AI about current events (plus the basic diagnostics Google's on-device text reader sends, described below).

What SpendLog keeps on your phone

All of this is stored only on your device, in SpendLog's private app storage, and optionally locked with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Fingerprint and face unlock are handled by Android; SpendLog never sees your fingerprint or face data. We cannot see, access or recover any of it.

What we collect

Nothing. Prasanvi does not receive your statements, payments, chats, key or any other information from the app. There is no sign-up, no analytics and no advertising, and SpendLog does not track you across apps or websites. The one exception is Google's text reader, below: it is part of the app and sends Google diagnostics about itself, never your money data.

AI providers you choose

AI features are off until you pick a provider (Claude by Anthropic, ChatGPT by OpenAI, Gemini by Google, or DeepSeek), add your own API key, and tap Allow. Then, only when an AI feature runs, SpendLog sends that provider:

The data goes directly from your phone to the provider, using your key, under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Prasanvi is not involved and does not see it. Please read the policy of the provider you choose:

You can stop at any time in Manage → AI → "Stop sending data", or remove your key. Nothing is sent after that.

Web lookups

When you ask the Money Coach about something current (tax rules, news), it may search Google News, which receives the search words, and read web pages through Jina AI's reader (r.jina.ai), which receives the page address. These requests don't include your statements.

On-device text reading (Google ML Kit)

SpendLog reads the text in screenshots and scanned PDFs on your phone with Google's ML Kit, so usually only that text, not the image, goes to your AI provider (the image is sent only when the text alone isn't clear enough). The images and the text it reads never leave your phone through ML Kit. ML Kit itself sends Google basic diagnostics: device model and Android version, SpendLog's package name and version, per-installation identifiers, and how fast and how often the text reader ran, with any error codes. Google uses this for diagnostics and usage analytics of ML Kit, sends it over HTTPS and does not pass it to third parties. Details: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure

Sharing from other apps

If you use Share → SpendLog from Google Pay or another app, the screenshot is read on your phone and by your chosen AI provider, then saved into SpendLog. Nothing is sent anywhere else.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you delete it. In Manage you can delete a statement (swipe it), delete all statements, or erase everything. Uninstalling SpendLog from your phone also deletes all of its data. For data already sent to an AI provider, that provider's retention policy applies; contact the provider to ask for deletion.

Children

SpendLog is not meant for children under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on our website, with a new effective date.
